Thanks to Twins Communications man Dustin Morse, we now know exactly who is slated to start each of the Twins first few games this spring. Looking through the upcoming guys that will head out to the bump, there are plenty of names to be excited for.

The probable starters are as follows:

3/4 vs University of Minnesota – Jose Berrios
3/5 vs Boston Red Sox – Kyle Gibson
3/6 at Tampa Bay Rays – Tommy Milone
3/7 at Boston Red Sox – Phil Hughes
3/8 vs Baltimore Orioles – Ervin Santana
3/9 at Pittsburgh Pirates – Ricky Nolasco

Minnesota will hand the ball to the youngest of the selected starters first against the Gophers. We have seen that Berrios has plenty of high expectations this season, and a strong start in his first outing could help to pace that direction.

Pitching against the Rays, Milone is the first member of the group of players competing for the 5th and final rotation spot to get a start. Alex Meyer, Mike Pelfrey, and Trevor May will all make their starting debut for the Twins later in the spring.

For fans, Santana will make his debut in a Twins uniform on the 8th against the Orioles. Having drawn rave reviews on his slider and changeup already during spring practices, it will be exciting to see him pitch in-game action.
