Barring a miracle, the Twins are not making the postseason this year. Therefore, it makes sense that Minnesota is utilizing many journeymen to fill out the bullpen, especially since the Twins traded nearly their entire relief corps in Jhoan Durán, Griffin Jax, Louis Varland, Danny Coulombe and Brock Stewart ahead of this summer's trade deadline.
However, there is no good reason for Minnesota to continue using righty reliever Noah Davis.
Twins reliever Noah Davis shouldn't be on the 28-man roster
Noah Davis' career 9.54 ERA is the worst by any MLB pitcher with at least 60 innings since 1890.

Davis, 28, has made eight appearances for the Twins, posting an awful 18.90 ERA across 10 innings. Davis, who mainly uses a sinker/sweeper combination on the mound, doesn't provide the Twins with anything other than simply eating innings. That can be valuable, but wouldn't it make sense for Minnesota to give someone like Marco Raya or Andrew Morris a relief opportunity at the big-league level this season? The Twins have many pitching prospects who likely will help fill out the bullpen in 2026, and Minnesota should give at least one of them a chance to prove themself in the majors this September over Davis.
Not to pick on Davis, but his numbers simply don't cut it at the big-league level. There are other relievers on the Twins' 28-man roster that don't belong in the majors as well, such as Génesis Cabrera, Thomas Hatch and Brooks Kriske. Still, Davis's struggles are far and beyond the most significant of all of Minnesota's relievers.
The Twins acquired Davis from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for cash considerations on July 15. Minnesota called him up one day before the trade deadline, foreshadowing the massive fire sale that was about to take place. Davis was optioned to St. Paul less than a week later after two outings that went poorly, and found himself on the big-league roster once again as a September callup.
Davis made his MLB debut with the Colorado Rockies in 2022, staying with the organization until signing a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox this past offseason. The Red Sox traded Davis to the Dodgers a few months later.
