Twins Announce Coaches, Name Bench Coach

The Minnesota Twins have already introduced Paul Molitor as their newest manager and successor to Ron Gardenhire. However, despite hiring Neil Allen as pitching coach and Eddie Guardado as bullpen coach, neither party was yet named formally. Today that changed, as well as the Twins announcing Joe Vavra as their bench coach.

Formerly held by Terry Steinbach, the Twins notified Steinbach that he would not be back with the club in 2015. Instead, Joe Vavra will be the Twins new bench coach. He will become the second member of the staff that is a carry over from Gardenhire’s group, including Tom Brunansky.
Twins retain Joe Vavra from Ron Gardenhire's coaching staff, name him bench coach to Paul Molitor.

#MNTwins announce they've hired Neil Allen as pitching coach and Eddie Guardado as bullpen coach. Also, Joe Vavra now the bench coach.

Joe Vavra, who was reassigned from hitting coach to third base coach under Ron Gardenhire, is now Paul Molitor's bench coach. Truly amazing.

Out of the above tweets, Gleeman’s is truly the most telling. The Twins have played musical chairs with Vavra over the past few seasons and it appears the consistency isn’t yet achieved.
While I was truly hoping to see Terry Steinbach return in his former role for the Twins, the writing was on the wall the longer the decision took to be made.
I think that Joe Vavra can bring a lot to the table for the Twins, and now we will see that front and center as he takes over his new role.
