When it comes to pitching prospects, the Minnesota Twins have produced some pretty decent hurlers in their organization. Now, the Twins look to produce yet another pitcher in their rotation, and this guy isn't even legally old enough to drink alcohol yet!

Twins lefty pitching prospect Dasan Hill appears to have bright future ahead of him

Meet Dasan Hill, who currently sits as the No. 7 prospect overall in the Twins system, ranking as the second-highest pitching prospect in the farm. Originally drafted out of high school in the second round of the 2024 MLB Draft, the 19-year-old has been a fast riser in the system, finding himself ending at High-A Cedar Rapids towards the end of the year.

The southpaw is described as someone who could, as he further develops and grows, be a lethal threat with his fastball, which has seemingly continued to develop as one of his better pitches along with his secondaries of his changeup, slider and knuckle curve. He is a quite raw prospect who has seemingly filled in his role nicely in the minors so far.

In his first full season in the minors, Hill has pitched a 3.19 ERA in 62 innings pitched, tossing 83 strikeouts among his time in Fort Myers and Cedar Rapids. Hill has a decent strikeout per nine with 12, and a 6.4 hits per nine, which is comparable with major leaguers like Jacob DeGrom and Tarik Skubal.

So, there is a lot to like about him, but he's still a pretty raw prospect overall.

While he has done a very good job at limiting hits, his WHIP of 1.35 tells a different story. 40 walks in 62 innings are certainly a lot, and his control needs a LOT of work. But at the end of the day, Hill is, again, just 19 years old! He has plenty of time to develop into a pretty serviceable pitcher. There's no way he's going to be pitching in a Twins uniform anytime soon unless injuries galore occur.

The Twins have clearly been careful to refine his mechanics and get his body to where it needs to be. It'll take a little while for Hill to reach the major leagues, but if everything goes right, he could be up here sooner than anyone thinks and be a major piece in the future.
