One Last Thing
As mentioned in Linda’s All-Star Game recap, there was a definite Latin feel to the game on Tuesday, and some of the great Latin American ballplayers of the past were honored before the game, including former Twins great Rod Carew, from Panama. For a bit of research, I thought it’d be interesting to see how many current players of each Central America/Latin America country are in the Minnesota Twins organization:
Dominican Republic – 53
Venezuela – 32
Puerto Rico – 10
Brazil – 2
Curacao – 1
For good measure, other non-USA birthplaces:
Australia – 4
Canada – 3
Moldova – 2
Netherlands – 2
Germany – 1
South Korea – 1
South Africa – 1
