The Minnesota Twins have been providing consistent power on offense led by Miguel Sano.
Miguel Sano, Kennys Vargas and Brian Dozier have been leading a power surge for the Minnesota Twins lately. This power has resulted in more wins for the team as well as support for the pitching staff.

The Twins have homered in thirteen straight games (including Sano’s homerun tonight). Over the past thirteen games they are 9-4 and are in first place in the Central Division. This upcoming series against Cleveland will decide who takes over first place.
Power hasn’t just come from Sano and Dozier either as every position player on the roster except for Chris Gimenez and Ehire Adrianza (only played in three games) have homered.
The man leading the charge has been without a doubt Miguel Sano. He has six home runs in his past twelve games, including Friday night, to go along with sixteen RBIs. However, he hasn’t been alone.

Brian Dozier after a slow start has five homeruns, three coming in his last five games. Eduardo Escobar has four homers with two since the start of May. He powered the Twins to a victory in Chicago Thursday night.
The biggest addition has come from the Twins call up of Kennys Vargas on April 23rd. Vargas has four home runs and ten RBIs in eleven games played. He is averaging a homer in just under every ten at-bats (four in 39 ABs).
The Twins have averaged over five runs per game in their last thirteen games.
The increased power that the offense has been able to provide has resulted in more support for the starting pitching and a bullpen that has struggled this year. They have averaged 5.4 runs per game over the past thirteen games.
On May 2nd the offense provided six home runs in a 9-1 victory over the Oakland Athletics. Five different players homered in that game with two coming off of Dozier’s bat. It was the first time the Twins had hit six homers in one game at Target Field.

In conclusion
If the offense can continue to provide five runs of support night in and night out the Twins should be well on their way to a central division championship. Of course this relies on the pitching staff maintaining their success as well as the bullpen improving. We can only wait and hope to see continued fruition on the diamond.
