We’re back! Spring Training is well underway and it is that time again to check in with what is happening all around Major League Baseball. From the sites around the Fansided network, we bring you the Minnesota Twins Web Gems from your’s truly, Puckett’s Pond.
- The Toronto Blue Jays have looked like they have the potential to be pretty good the past couple years, Edwin Encarnacion has been a major part of that potential. He is having an MRI on a pain in his lower back. Jays Journal has more.
- Yankees fans, thanks for joining us, one of your aces is making his spring debut later this week. Masahiro Tanaka is set to make his first spring start on Thursday against the Braves. Yanks Go Yard has more on the slinger.
- The Oakland A’s tore it down and then built it back up this offseason and now they are being torn right back down by injures to the outfield. Coco Crisp and Josh Reddick highlight a list of injuries. Swingin’ A’s has more.
- To our friends in Wisconsin, Gold Glover Gerado Parra has done wonders in the outfield, but he is working out at a new position this spring. Reviewing The Brew reveals that position for you here.
- Neil Walker has been hot so far this spring for the Pirates. It’s only spring, but that could be huge for Pittsburgh. Rum Bunter breaks it down.
- Washington Nationals projected second baseman Yunel Escobar is suffering through an injury, does that open a door for former All-Star Dan Uggla to make the Opening Day roster? District on Deck discusses Uggla’s opportunity.
- Staying in the NL East, ex-Twin Matt Capps was trying to make it with the Atlanta Braves. He was victim to the first cuts for the Braves. Glad we sent Wilson Ramos away for him.
- Other ex-Twins news, Kevin Correia has signed a minor league deal with the Seattle Mariners with an invite to camp. I have more on that here.
I’m done. Enjoy the beautiful weather we are having up here in the Minnesota/Wisconsin area. Go Twins!
