Apparently, a long list of teams is wishing for Torii Hunter this holiday season, according to Ken Rosenthal anyway. The FOX baseball insider informs us that our friends to the north, the Toronto Blue Jays, are interested in Torii Hunter.
Add #BlueJays to long list of clubs pursuing Torii Hunter. Team pursued him two years ago, not especially confident of retaining Melky.

It has been reported that the Kansas City Royals and your Minnesota Twins are the squads that are most interested in Hunter’s services.

Toronto has already been busy this offseason. Toronto recently signed catcher Russell Martin, a player that many thought was cinch to head to the Chicago Cubs and new manager Joe Maddon.
Many of the responses to Rosenthal’s tweet actually make a lot of sense. I doubt that Torii Hunter would go to Toronto and play on the turf that they have. Sure, he’s used to it from his days in the Dome, but he wasn’t 39 then. Also, turf sucks.
The thing Toronto does have going for them is that the team does look like it could be a competitive one, a card that Kansas City also holds over the Twins. It would be expected that Hunter would look for a contending team in the hopes of winning a World Series before the Gold Glove All-Star retires from the game.
