Twins vs. Guardians Rain Delay: Latest updates on the weather delay and when the game should start
With a chance of rain of at least 45% every hour from 3-7 p.m., there’s a good chance this game will be delayed for a while. Since it’s in the top of the seventh inning, the game can technically be called if the weather continues to be a problem.
At the start of the rain delay, the Twins’ sixth this season, the Guardians led 2-0 on an RBI single from Kyle Manzardo in the first inning and a 450-foot solo home run from Jhonkensy Noel in the fourth. Guardians righty starter Ben Lively three 5 ⅔ scoreless innings, allowing five hits and no walks with two strikeouts before Jakob Junis gave up a hit and then earned the final out of the sixth inning.
Simeon Woods Richardson went 4 ⅔ innings, surrendering two runs on five walks and two hits with four strikeouts. Cole Sands pitched 1 ⅓ no-hit innings with a walk and a strikeout before the delay commenced.
Ty France notched three hits in three at-bats, and Carlos Correa, Brooks Lee and Byron Buxton each collected a hit before the delay.
