Riding a four game win streak, the Minnesota Twins are playing some really good baseball right now. They absolutely destroyed the Guardians on Monday and Cleveland starter Tanner Bibee has looked vulnerable early this season. Everything is lining up for a potentially fun matchup, but the weather seemingly has other plans.
Update: Estimated first pitch at 8:20 p.m. CST

When the forecast for game time showed a 60% chance of rain in the area, the writing was already on the wall that this game may not start on time. Those odds did not improve going into the evening and now we just officially got word that Minnesota's matchup with the Guardians will be delayed.
The Guardians announced that first pitch has been delayed due to "impending weather conditions." It's not raining yet, but they're putting the tarp on now.

Twins vs. Guardians Rain Delay: Latest updates on the weather delay and when the game should start
It seems like the teams were getting ahead of the weather expected to come through the area. Delaying the start of the game is always preferable to starting a game, then having to start a delay in the middle and hope that the ground's crew can get the tarp on the field in time. There have certainly been a number of jokes made that there was no rain during the start of the rain delay, but it does seem like officials got this decision right as there is some pretty serious weather coming.
The good news here is that the rain delay kicked in before Chris Paddack started pitching, so he should be able to handle a normal workload tonight assuming they can get this game in at all. There are few things worse than a lengthy rain delay in like the second inning which basically burns the starting pitchers on the spot.
This post will be updated over the course of the evening as more details about the rain delay become available. Here's hoping we aren't waiting around all night for this game to get started, although you may want to get comfortable while these storms take their sweet time.
