This season, Peacock is taking over as the stop for exclusive broadcasting rights for MLB games on Sunday. The Minnesota Twins will not be featured in any Sunday night games, but the club is set to host Peacock's first MLB Sunday Leadoff game.
On May 3, the Twins will face the reigning American League champions Toronto Blue Jays on May 3 at Target Field, which is the final matchup of a three-game slate. The game is set to start at 11:30 a.m. CDT.
Minnesota Twins to kick off Peacock's MLB Sunday Leadoff schedule in 2026
It's understandable that the Twins are not going to be featured in the later slot on Sundays. Minnesota isn't expected to be a top team in 2026, so that window is reserved for teams like the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Red Sox, Phillies, and so on.
But it's cool to see that the Twins will play a strong team to kickstart a new era of baseball streaming. This game will be marketed plenty by NBC, so the Twins can expect a lot of viewers for this game. There will be a storyline here, too as Minnesota could face former Twin Louis Varland. Varland was traded to Toronto at the 2025 deadline and went on to break a Major League Baseball record for most postseason appearances by a pitcher.
That in itself is dramatic enough to get people to tune in.

The Twins played the Blue Jays six times in 2025 and pulled off a pair of wins. The team is also slotted to face the Arizona Diamondbacks in the MLB Leadoff slate on June 21 in Phoenix. This game will be played at 2 p.m. CDT to close out a three-game series.
Though the Twins will not receive any exposure on Sunday nights, having them play in Peacock's debut afternoon broadcast is a fair trade-off. Hopefully by then, the Twins will be in a good spot in the standings to make it worth the local fans' time to watch.
