While Major League free agents won't hit the open market until five days after the World Series ends, eligible minor leaguers currently can become free agents. Three pitchers in the Twins organization have already elected free agency, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the trio of pitchers unless they re-sign with Minnesota.

Here are the three Twins pitchers who already elected minor league free agency

Noah Davis

Not to be rude, but Davis may be the worst MLB reliever of all time. The journeyman bullpen arm has a career ERA of 9.53, which is the worst of any pitcher with at least 60 innings pitched since 1890. Davis, 28, appeared in four games for the Twins in 2025 and allowed 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits, three hit-batters and one walk over five innings. The only reason Davis had his opportunity with Minnesota was because of the trade deadline fire sale that saw nearly the entire bullpen get dismantled. The Twins designated Davis for assignment in early September after his struggles, and the former Dodger cleared waivers before heading back to Triple-A St. Paul.

Darren McCaughan

The Twins selected McCaughan's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on March 31 as a response to designating right-handed pitcher Randy Dobnak for assignment. Minnesota then designated McCaughan, 29, for assignment after he made three appearances for the organization. He cleared waivers and elected free agency before re-signing with the Twins on a minor league deal. In his three appearances with the Twins, McCaughan allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk while collecting six strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. McCaughan's most memorable performance for the Twins occurred in mid-April against the Houston Astros at Target Field, as the journeyman reliever struck out Jose Altuve to mark the Astros legend's first time striking out five times in one game.

Brooks Kriske

The Twins claimed Kriske off waivers from the Chicago Cubs in early August before outrighting him to Triple-A St. Paul in early September. In 12 appearances with the Twins, Kriske, 31, surrendered 15 earned runs on 18 hits and ten walks over 12 innings. Similar to Davis, Kriske only had a big-league opportunity with the Twins because of the trade deadline fire sale.
