2025 Minnesota Twins schedule revealed: Home opener, notable matchups and key dates
We're halfway through the current MLB season but it's never too early to start looking ahead to the future. That's exactly what happened on Thursday when the complete 2025 regular season schedule was announced to the world.
Minnesota Twins fans have more than enough to be invested in this year, as the team is hoping to use the second half to surge back to the top of the AL Central. All of the projections seem to favor that happening, despite what crabby Cleveland fans might foam at the mouth about on Twitter, but it's clear that the last few months of the season are going to be a fun ride.
As far as what happens next year, there's still a lot of time before those games roll around but we at least know what the schedule will look like when it does.
Minnesota Twins schedule 2025: Key dates and notable matchups revealed
Off the bat, we learned when and where the Twins will begin their journey next year. For the third straight season Minnesota will celebrate Opening Day on the road, although this time a little further east than Kansas City.
The last two years the Twins opened the season at Kauffman Stadium, but next year Minnesota will be part of the St. Louis Cardinals Opening Day festivities. Fans will have to wait until April 3rd to cristen another season at Target Field, which is when the home opener will be held with a series against the Houston Astros.
Here are some other key dates:
- Opening Day 2025: at St. Louis Cardinals (March 27th)
- Home Opener: vs. Houston Astros (April 3rd)
- All-Star Break: July 14-17 (in Atlanta)
As far as notable matchups, the list starts in July when the Twins welcome the Chicago Cubs to Target Field. That will be followed by a series against the Pirates before Minnesota glides into the All-Star Break.
Here's a look at the complete 2025 Minnesota Twins schedule, which the team dropped on social media in printable form:
Minnesota has a chance to jump out to an early lead in the AL Central right away, with 16 of the team's first 30 games coming against division rivals. July features zero games against Cleveland, Chicago, Kansas City, or Detroit, while August is shaping up to be one of the most critical months of the season.
In August the Twins will play only four series against teams that aren't in the AL Central, with two of those coming against the Yankees and Padres.
There's plenty of time between now and then for dust to settle, and fans have a ton of reason to be fully invested in what's happening now versus the future. Still, it's nice to know what to look forward to and it's never to early to get started on some planning.
