I'll tip my cap to the Minnesota Twins. They went from looking like a team content with being competitive in the middle of the pack to making a legit push to get atop the American League Central Division.

With the dealings of the past month the Twins have created themselves a team they can build around for a window of succes in the foreseaable future.

The head scratching Carlos Correa saga played out in the Twins favor, suddenly giving the Kyle Farmer signing a nice shiny glow. As painful as it was to see Luis Arraez depart, Pablo Lopez is a great addition to the Twins pitching staff. You add in veterans Christian Vazquez and Michael Taylor to the mix and the Twins have went from a middle of the pack wannabe to a legit AL Central contender.

With Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton centering the middle of the defense, along with Pablo Lopez and Joe Ryan stabilizing the rotation, a foundation is set for the Twins to build a squad around. I see a legit 3-5 year window for success open for our Twins.

Minnesota Twins prospects on the horizon

All the latest signings have also bought some time for future prospects to fully develop. In the infield we see huge potential in Brooks Lee, Royce Lewis, Edouard Julien, Austin Martin and the newly acquired Jose Salas. The outfield group includes Gilberto Celestino, Matt Wallner and Trevor Larnach. They were all forces into action the past couple years and provide depth going into the season along with gaining the experience needed to get their game MLB ready. On the hill Bailey Ober, Louie Varland and Simeon Woods Richardson stand at the ready moving into the future.

The Twins latest efforts may not be over before spring training. We may see another trade, Max Kepler has been the hot topic all winter. The bullpen remains a bit of a mystery, so an addition there would seem the most likely target. Or, perhaps the Twins will go big and try for another top of the rotation piece with their new found depth.

I've been critical of theTwins in the past. These moves have me optimistic for the future and upcoming season. Kudos are due to the front office at this time.
