MLB did the Twins no favors with their 2027 schedule

The Minnesota Twins announced their 2027 schedule on Thursday, July 16. Let's just say that Major League Baseball did the Twins no favors.

The Twins are scheduled to have the most home games (16) in a month in April, when the weather tends to be way too cold for fans to comfortably enjoy attending a baseball game.

For whatever reason, MLB keeps loading up home games for the Twins in April. It's also the Target Field's busiest month this year, as Minnesota played 17 home games in April. It was the club's busiest month at home in 2025 as well.

Giving the Twins so many home games does absolutely no one any favors. For one, many fans have no interest in attending games in the cold. Much of the time, Minneapolis' weather is in the 30s in April.

That not only hurts the fans who want to watch the Twins in person, but also the Twins organization. Obviously, fewer fans attending games leads to less money for the team.

The number of Twins home games may ultimately not matter, however. With the current CBA set to expire in December, and MLB and MLBPA fighting over whether there should be a salary structure or note, it seems like a near certainty that we're headed toward a lockout. Hopefully, the lockout is short-lived, but there's a strong chance it could delay the start of the season.

Regardless, if you're listening, MLB, stop making April Target Field's busiest month of the year.

Now that I'm done ranting, let's dive into the more exciting matchups on the Twins' 2027 schedule. Keep in mind, with the looming lockout, these games aren't guaranteed, especially the ones earlier in the year.
