The Minnesota Twins are just about a week away from pitchers and catchers reporting for Spring Training this year. The excitement of a new season has already come upon fans — even if the Twins did not do much in the offseason to create a postseason contender — but the organization is trying to amplify that bubbly feeling.

On Friday, the Twins unveiled their newest jerseys, which will be an alternate road uniform for the 2026 season. It isn't that much of a change, but some slightly new threads added into the mix is fun and refreshing .

Minnesota Twins add alternate road uniforms into wardrobe for 2026 season

This will be the first time in 40 years that the team will have a road uniform with "Twins" emblazoned across the chest. It isn't customary for teams in any sport to have their team name on the road uniform. Generally, the city or the state they play in is written across the chest.

The Twins already have a navy jersey in their closet, but this one is a bit different. Besides the new one saying "Twins", the patch on the right shoulder is not the interlocking letters of the Twin Cities. This new uniform displays a patch of that outlines the state of Minnesota, with a star in the bottom right portion to signal where Target Field is.

Minnesota's primary road uniform will still be the gray ones with navy pinstripes that says "Minnesota" across the chest in blue. It will be fun to see Byron Buxton digging into the batter's box in Detroit or Kansas City or Chicago with "Twins" pounding off his chest — rather than "Minnesota" — before hitting a home run. It's exciting imagery, and one that the Twins are hoping will get the fans even more ready for the 2026 campaign.
