Matthew grew up three hours from the Metrodome in central Iowa. A certain K. Puckett homered in young Matthew's first Twins game; the team proceeded to win the 1987 World Series. Since then, he has spent far too much money on travel, tickets, and memorabilia, having visited 21 MLB ballparks at last count. As a proud Upper Midwesterner and ardent American League advocate, attending the 2012 and 2014 All-Star Games was both inevitable and memorable.
