Next: Who should be #5 starter?

One Last Thing

Jorge Polanco’s fourth straight game with a home run puts him now one game away from tying the longest streak in Minnesota Twins team history. Last season, the Minnesota Twins saw the home run streak tied by Brian Dozier in early September with 5 straight games and Miguel Sano had a streak of the same length as Polanco’s in May, when he hit a long ball in four straight games.

Two other players than Dozier contributed for 5 total times a Twins player has homered in 5 straight games. Marty Cordova hit one in 5 straight in 1995. Harmon Killebrew then was the guy with the other three 5-game streaks, two of them in 1970.

For some craziness on Killebrew, he had 9 of the Minnesota Twins’ 28 player streaks of at least 4 games with a home run. Kent Hrbek has the second-most streaks of 4 or more with 3, which just puts into perspective how amazing that 9 number of Killebrew’s is.
