Cleveland Indians 8, Minnesota Twins 1

The Indians powered past the Twins on Tuesday with 5 home runs. Bartolo Colon made the start, throwing 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and 4 walks, striking out 3. Eddie Rosario and Max Kepler each had a double.

August 16th Probable Starter: Kyle Gibson vs. Cleveland, 7:10PM CT

Rochester Red Wings 6, Columbus Clippers 2

The Red Wings never had a big inning, but the chipped away one run at a time until they had a 4-run win on Tuesday night. Stephen Gonsalves made the start, going 6 innings, allowing a run on 4 hits and 2 walks, striking out 8. John Curtiss had a perfect inning, striking out 1. Matt Hague had three singles. Kennys Vargas had a home run, a single, and a walk. Mitch Garver had a double, a single, and a walk. Niko Goodrum had a home run, two walks, and stole a base. J.B. Shuck had a double and a single. Daniel Palka had a pair of single.

Fort Myers was rained out

Cedar Rapids Kernels 5, Burlington Bees 2

The Kernels put up 3 runs in the top of the first inning, and they got a great pitching performance to make that more than enough. Bryan Sammons went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and walk, striking out 6. Hector Lujan threw a perfect inning to get his 13th save, striking out 2. Aaron Whitefield had a triple, single, walk, and a stolen base. Trey Cabbage had a pair of singles. Christian Cavaness had a pair of walks. Jordan Gore had a single and a walk. Caleb Hamilton had a home run. Shane Carrier and Joe Cronin each had a double.

Johnson City Cardinals 11, Elizabethton Twins 4

The Cardinals piled on throughout the game against the Twins on Tuesday. Edwar Colina went 3 2/3 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks, striking out 3. Gorge Munoz had a pair of singles and was hit by pitch. Ariel Montesino had a double and 2 walks. Rainis Silva had a single and a walk.

GCL Rays 4, GCL Twins 1

The Rays came out early, and they were able to keep the Twins off the scoreboard. Tyler Benninghoff threw an inning of rehab, walking one and striking out 2. Tyler Wells followed with 5 innings, allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and a walk, striking out 4. Shane Kennedy had a triple and two walks along with a stolen base. Benjamin Rodriguez had a home run. Emmanuel Morel had a double.

August 16th Opponent: vs. GCL Rays, 9:00AM CT

DSL Nationals 5, DSL Twins 4

The Twins kept coming back throughout the game, but couldn’t make it all the way back to defeat the Nationals. Prelander Berroa went 2 innings, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits and a walk, striking out 2. Junior Navas went two scoreless innings, allowing a hit, striking out 3. Darling Cuesto had a double and a single. Agustin Marte had a two walks and a stolen base. Yeremi De La Cruz had a pair of walks. Ruben Santana and Wander Valdez each had a single and a walk. Juan Martinez had a double. Alberoni Nunez and Samuel Vasquez each had 3 stolen bases.
