Next: Forgotten Twins seasons

One Last Thing

Saturday is Lew Ford’s 41st birthday. He was mentioned in the above link for his 2004 season. In looking deeper, Ford’s 31 doubles, 15 home runs, and 20 stolen bases season was a combination that I was curious how frequent it was.

It turns out that 8 players have accomplished the line 9 times in Twins history. The first was Zoilo Versalles in 1965. Torii Hunter is the only Twin to have accomplished the feat twice, in 2002 and 2004. The last one to do it was Brian Dozier in 2014. Interestingly, 5 of the 9 occurrences have occurred since 2000.
