Minnesota Twins tie it but can’t complete comeback in loss to Orioles
The Orioles and twins were due to face off Monday but the game was postponed and rescheduled due to inclement weather.
Jose Berrios was pushed back to Tuesday and faced an offensively minded Orioles squad. The O’s are tied for first in the AL East.
Berrios wasn’t as sharp as he’s capable of being but was facing a deadly batting order. He lasted 5 innings and allowed 3 runs. Two of those runs were via the long ball.

The third run Berrios allowed scored on an RBI single in the 4th. Fernando Abad, Ryan Pressly and Trevor May all had scoreless innings in relief and all gave up single/no walks. Pressly and May had strikeouts and were able to hold the score at 3 all.
Kevin Jepsen gave up two runs in the 9th inning and earned the loss.
Offensively, the Twins struck first in the bottom of the first on a sac fly. They would be held off the board until the 6th inning when Trevor Plouffe hit a game tying 2 run shot.
Unfortunately, the Twins weren’t able to pull ahead subsequently and the bullpen couldn’t keep it knotted for extra innings. Orioles closer, Zach Britton quashed any hope of a rally in the ninth.
