Minnesota Twins Game Grades in Loss for Meyer and Twins

The Minnesota Twins lose 6-4 in Houston
Alex Meyer made his first career start for the Minnesota Twins last night against the Astros. Unfortunately, things did not go well for him or ultimately, the team.
The Twins are now 8-19 after the loss.
Meyer was solid through his first two innings but fell apart in the 3rd and got the hook before he could get all three outs. He allowed 3 runs over 2.2 innings.

Meyer gave way to Tommy Milone who also struggled. Milone did get the final out of the 3rd but had an ugly 4th inning.
Milone also gave up 3 runs and went 3.1 innings in relief.
Michael Tonkin came in for the 7th and 8th innings and provided some stability. He didn’t allowed a run, walk or hit. He struck out one batter as well.
The Twins got the scoring going in the top of the first inning with a leadoff home run from Danny Santana.
Down after the 4th inning by a score of 6-2, the Twins’ offense was able to claw back to within two runs but weren’t able to complete the comeback.
