The Minnesota Twins notched their first win of the season against the Los Angeles Angels

The Minnesota Twins losing streak to begin the year is over. They are now 1-9 with last night’s win.

The victory will come with a huge sense of relief to the clubhouse. It will take quite a few more wins before fans can stop sweating however.

Tommy Milone got the start for the Twins.

More from Puckett's Pond

Milone cruised along through the first six innings but ran into trouble in the 7th inning and failed to record an out. He only threw 81 pitches but was losing control of the game by that point. He was charged with 4 earned runs.

Ryan Pressly continued his scoreless relief streak, finishing the 7th inning. Trevor May walked three and got 2 outs in the 8th and Casey Fien was called to get the 3rd out, which he did. Kevin Jepsen walked a batter, whom the Angels moved over to third on 2 ground outs, but Jepsen left that batter stranded to secure the save.

Offensively the Twins had their biggest output of the season, which of course isn’t saying much at all. 5 runs crossed the plate. The game winning run was driven in by Byung-ho Park with a double to corned that scored Trevor Plouffe from first.
