Twins uprising is a weekly article that takes a look at how the top four prospects for the Minnesota Twins are performing in the Minors.
1. Alex Meyer made three relief appearances for Triple-A Rochester this week. He pitched a total of 2.1 innings and gave up two earned runs and recorded four strikeouts. As the trade deadline approaches, Meyer is a name to watch. Teams could be intrigued by the hard throwing right-hander.
2. Jose Berrios picked up his first win at the Triple-A level this week. He pitched seven scoreless innings and gave up four hits. Berrios might be the one untouchable prospect that’s in the minors for the Twins. He has the best stuff of any pitcher within the Twins organization.
3. Nick Gordon‘s hitting streak was snapped last week, but he continues to swing a hot bat. He’s hitting .333 this week two RBIs and four runs scored. The shortstop has committed 15 errors on the season. He has work to do at the plate and in the field, but his progression at the plate is a good indicator.
4. Kohl Stewart didn’t get much run support in his lone start this week. He pitched six innings and gave up one run on seven hits. He also registered a season-high seven strikeouts. Stewart has recorded six straight quality starts for the Fort Meyers Miracle.
