Twins Uprising is a weekly article that takes a look at how the top four Minnesota Twins prospects are performing in the minors.
1. Byron Buxton has been stealing bases like Jesse James used to steal money. This past week Buxton stole five bases. In yesterday’s game, Buxton swiped three bases for the Chattanooga Lookouts. His three stolen bases matched a career-high. Buxton is currently tied for third in stolen bases (19) in the Southern League.
2. Miguel Sano has been battling a finger injury the past two weeks. His injury limited him to just three games this week. His nagging finger injury didn’t stop him from launching his tenth home run of the season. His ten home runs are the third most in the Southern League. He’s just four back from the leader and his teammate, Adam Brett Walker.
3. Alex Meyer made one relief appearance this past week. He worked 2.1 innings giving up one hit, issuing one walk and striking out five batters. Since being moved to the bullpen, Meyer has given up just one hit in three appearances.
4. Stop the presses! Jose Berrios currently has an earned run average higher than three. In his lone start this week, Berrios worked six innings, giving up five runs and striking out seven. I guess Berrios is human after all.
