Here is the hourly forecast in Detroit as of 11:30 a.m. CDT, according to Weather.com:

Based on the forecast, there appears to be no threat of a postponement. Luckily for the Twins, they have the day off on Thursday before beginning a six-game homestand, so a short delay today isn't that big of a deal for the club. There is no inclement weather in the forecast in Detroit from 3:00 p.m. CDT through the rest of the day.

Right-hander Zebby Matthews will make the start on the mound for Minnesota today. The 26-year-old is 9-9 with a 4.69 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 97 strikeouts over 117 innings this season. In his last outing, Matthews allowed four earned runs on four hits (three home runs) and one walk over five innings against the Chicago White Sox at Rate Field.
Right-hander Keider Montero is slated to start for Detroit today. The 26-year-old is 9-8 with a 3.52 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 96 strikeouts over 143 innings this season. In his last start, Montero surrendered six earned runs over four innings against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field.
At this point, every game is a must-win for the Twins. Minnesota is 4 1/2 games behind Cleveland for the final American League Wild Card spot with just 17 games remaining in the regular season. Not to mention, there are three teams (Toronto Blue Jays, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles) between the Twins and Guardians in the Wild Card standings.
