The Minnesota Twins have plenty of velocity in their bullpen but their recent signing of Jacob Bosiokovic could give Minnesota one more high-upside arm ahead of the 2025 season.

Bosiokovic spent the last six seasons in the St. Louis Cardinals organization and averaged 95.4 mph on his fastball with Triple-A Memphis last year. According to Twins Daily’s Parker Hageman, Bosiokovic worked at Tread Athletics during the winter and made some tweaks to his delivery, resulting in a maximum velocity of 99.6 mph.

Jacob Bosiokovic gives the Twins another high-upside arm for bullpen depth

Minnesota is the latest stop for Bosiokovic, who has had an eventful career since the Colorado Rockies selected him in the 19th round of the 2016 MLB June Amateur Draft. Bosiokovic was a corner infielder when he arrived in the Colorado organization but was converted to a pitcher after the 2018 season.

The Cardinals selected Bosiokovic in the minor league phase of the 2019 Rule 5 draft and he went 2-1 with a 4.54 ERA in 33 games at Low-A Asheville. Bosiokovic’s development was delayed by the cancellation of the 2020 minor league season and he made his way to Triple-A Memphis in 2022 before electing for free agency after the season.

Bosiokovic went on to sign with the Charleston Dirty Birds of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and returned to the Cardinals’ organization last year, going 4-3 with a 5.56 ERA at Memphis.

While Bosiokovic has posted a 26 percent strikeout rate at Triple-A, he’s also had issues throwing strikes with an 11.5 percent walk rate in 77 innings.

The Twins' bullpen is mostly set for next season with Griffin Jax and Jhoan Duran leading the way. But after a rash injuries weakened the group toward the end of last season, Bosiokovic is the type of arm the Twins seek as high-upside d
