The Minnesota Twins are in the middle of a four-game series against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium. The Angels won the first game of the series 5-4 on Thursday. The Twins bounced back with a 3-0 win on Friday. The third game of the series is scheduled to start at 8:38 p.m. CDT on Saturday.

Twins OF Walker Jenkins heating up
After a rough start to his Twins tenure after being called up late last month, Jenkins has finally started heating up.
Jenkins had just four hits in 53 plate appearances before the Angels series. Over the first two games of the Angels series, Jenkins collected six hits, including two home runs.
Jenkins hit a game-tying, two-run home run with two outs in the ninth inning of the series opener on Thursday night. On Friday, the outfielder crushed a solo home run in the seventh inning.
With the Twins pretty much out of the postseason race, Jenkins' recent hot stretch has given Twins fans something to root for during a dark time for the team.
Twins place Trevor Larnach on IL
The Twins placed outfielder Trevor Larnach on the 10-day injured list (retroactive Sept. 15) with a left wrist sprain. With the season nearly over and the Twins far out of a postseason spot, Larnach's season is likely done.
Larnach had the best season of his career this year, posting a career-high 2.2 fWAR with a .269/.352/.436 (123 wRC+) slash line, 13 home runs and 48 RBI over 122 games.
Unfortunately, Larnach likely played his final game in a Twins uniform. With Walker Jenkins and Emmanuel Rodriguez now in the majors, the Twins likely won't have room for Larnach to play regularly next year. Minnesota will probably trade or non-tender Larnach in the offseason. He is set to be a free agent after the 2027 season.
Twins outfielder Alan Roden returns to MLB
The Twins recalled outfielder Alan Roden from Triple-A St. Paul as a corresponding move to placing Larnach on the IL. Roden has hit .254/.333/.313 (86 wRC+) in 79 plate appearances with the Twins this season. He posted a 122 wRC+ over 48 Triple-A games in 2027.
The Twins acquired Roden from the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 Louis Varland trade. Minnesota also received left-hander Kendry Rojas in the deal.
