Twins set to play Phillies in Field of Dreams Game tonight

The Minnesota Twins will play the Philadelphia Phillies in the third iteration of the Field of Dreams Game in Dyersville, Iowa, on Thursday night. The game is inspired by the legendary 1989 "Field of Dreams" movie starring Kevin Costner, as the field is adjacent to the movie site. The matchup is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. CDT and will be exclusively streamed on Netflix.

Both teams will wear unique, old-school-style uniforms for the game.

Unfortunately, there is rain in the forecast for Dyersville tonight, so there's a possibility of a delay or even postponement. Both clubs have the day off tomorrow, so they could still play the game in Iowa on Friday.

Taj Bradley is slated to start for Minnesota tonight. The 25-year-old right-hander is 9-4 with a 3.76 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 148 strikeouts in 131 2/3 innings across 23 starts this season.

Aaron Nola is scheduled to start for Philadelphia. The veteran right-hander is 3-9 with a 5.47 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 129 strikeouts in 125 innings across 24 starts this year.

Twins CF Byron Buxton nearing return from IL

Twins manager Derek Shelton said it's a "possibility" that Buxton could be reinstated from the injured list for the Field of Dreams Game. If not, he will likely return in Minnesota this weekend.

Buxton has been on the IL since July 29 with a right hip impingement. His hip started to bother him in mid-May, which led to him missing a handful of games. He avoided an IL stint in May.

However, the Twins put Buxton on the IL on July 7 after his hip issue became too much to play through. Minnesota activated the star center fielder on July 20. He clearly didn't feel completely healthy after returning from his first IL stint of the year, as he went just 4-for-25 before being placed on the IL again nine days later.

Twins place OF Kyler Fedko on 60-day IL

The Twins placed Fedko on the full-season injured list on Wednesday, according to the outfielder's transactions log on MiLB.com. Fedko announced on his Instagram account that he underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL, MCL and LCL in his left knee, according to Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune.

The Twins selected Fedko's contract on June 15. Minnesota optioned him back to Triple-A St. Paul about a month later after he went 0-for-16.
