During a strong solar storm last week, the Minnesota Twins' social media team took advantage of sharing photos of the beautiful night sky lit up by the Northern Lights.

Target Field is already one of the nicest-looking stadiums in all of Major League Baseball, so when you mix in those lights painting the Minnesota night sky, you get a superb offseason photo to keep the social accounts breathing.

But, as innocent as this post may have been, fans took to the comments in droves. A calm, picturesque post turned brutal for the Twins, as fans relentlessly told the Pohlad family to sell the team with each scrolling comment.

"I think I can read the words SELL THE TEAM written in the sky" was one comment from @mobyoctopad that garnered over 150 likes.

"The cosmic beauty of the northern lights is a marvel and a humbling reminder just how insignificant we (and our manufactured problems) truly are in the grand scheme of the universe. Now sell the team, Pohlads." said @ischweer.

Fans got creative. Fans got angry. Fans got ruthless. Any way you chop it up, this post became a playground for fans burying the Pohlads, whether on Instagram or on X. But this is nothing new for Minnesotans. They are completely fed up with the Pohlad's continued decline in spending as the team gets worse and worse each season. Social media is just going to be a cesspool of negative comments until ownership proves that they are doing more to make the team a postseason contender.

The Twins are trying to move in the right direction by cleaning house on its coaching staff. That's a start, but in terms of the roster, things are still looking bleak. For starters, the team's two best players, Joe Ryan and Byron Buxton, may want out of Minnesota before the 2026 season even starts. Let's make these two guys happy, which in turn will make the fans happy. Then, maybe we'll see the comments lighten up on the Pohlads.
