Twins' biggest weakness has turned into a strength during recent hot streak

It's encouraging to see what has held the Twins back for much of the season turn into something positive.

The Minnesota Twins dropped their last game to the Chicago White Sox 3-1, but they've still been playing great baseball lately, winning 10 of their last 15 games. During that stretch, Minnesota's starting pitching, arguably the team's biggest strength, has ranked eighth in ERA (3.19). The offense has also been solid, ranking 10th in wRC+ (101). Meanwhile, the team's biggest weakness most of the season, its bullpen, has been a strength, ranking fourth in ERA (2.05).

Before the Twins' 10-5 stretch, their bullpen ranked last in batting average against (.277) and 29th in ERA (5.81) and strikeout rate (17.9%). After winning 10 of 15, Minnesota's relievers rank 26th in ERA (4.70).

The Twins recently made moves to improve their bullpen. Last week, Minnesota designated right-handed reliever Justin Topa, who had posted an 8.05 ERA in 19 innings this season, for assignment. The Twins also DFA'd right-handed reliever Luis García, who had a 10.38 ERA in 8 2/3 innings with Minnesota, a few days ago. Additionally, Minnesota has recently added Yoendrys Gómez, Simeon Woods Richardson, Travis Adams and Kendry Rojas to its bullpen.

The Twins' efforts to improve their bullpen have paid off recently. In addition to Minnesota's roster moves, many Twins relievers have taken their games to the next level lately. Let's take a look at how the team's current relievers have fared before and during the 10-5 streak, which began on May 9.
