He was rightfully not very happy after taking a 97 MPH pitch off his knee.

Sunday afternoon was a painful one to watch no matter which team you were rooting for.

Pittsburgh Pirates fans had to watch their team implode like an old casino getting demolished in extra innings. Minnesota Twins fans had to watch the team claw back in a game where it coughed up a three-run lead.

Willi Castro, on the other hand, was in actual pain more than once.

In the sixth inning Castro was hit by a pitch from Kyle Nicolas and was again plunked in extra innings when a pitch got away from Ben Heller. Neither of them looked like they felt good, but the one that hit Castro in the tenth inning sent him to first base in a hot mood.

After getting hit, Castro tumbled to the ground and spiked his helmet after returning to his feet.

Thanfully it looked -- and sounded -- a lot worse than it ended up being. The sound of the ball cracking against Castro's knee, and watching him instantly fall to the ground in a heap of pain, didn't exactly paint the best picture.

Not only was Castro able to walk to first base, he stayed in the game and didn't need to get removed with a potential injury designation. It also helped spark an offensive explosion for the Twins in extras, as Minnesota scored six runs after Castro was hit including a runner scoring because he needed to take a base.

Perhaps the extra innings explosion by Minnesota is a sign that the offense will finally start to wake up. Sunday’s win snapped a five-game losing streak that started with a sweep by the Yankees and painfully continued with back-to-back losses in Pittsburgh. The Twins have a relative easy schedule through the end of the month, and what the tenth inning looked like is a lot closer to what everyone is hoping things will be like moving forward.

Of course, without anyone getting hit by pitches.
