White Sox vs. Twins Odds and Prediction for Friday, July 21 (Back the Twins)
The Twins are in a great spot to build on their AL Central lead on Friday night when they host the White Sox.
The AL Central certainly isn't the best division in baseball, but the Minnesota Twins don't care. They're still holding on to the top spot, leading the Cleveland Guardians by two games heading into the weekend.
They're in a great spot to build on their lead when they host the Chicago White Sox in a three-game series over the weekend.
Let's take a look at the odds for the series opener and then I'll break down why you should bet the Twins to get off to a 1-0 series lead.
White Sox vs. Twins odds, run line, and total
White Sox vs. Twins prediction and pick
The White Sox continue to be a disaster, while the Twins offense has been playing some of the best baseball they have all season.
Over the past 30 days, the Twins come in at ninth in Major League Baseball in OPS at .755, while the White Sox are 23rd over that stretch at .698.
To make matters worse for Chicago, Lance Lynn and his 6.06 ERA is getting the start tonight. In his April 11th start against the Twins, he gave up seven hits and three earned runs in 6.0 innings pitched.
The Twins power should cause him issue tonight. Lynn is giving up an average of 2.0 home runs per nine innings over the past 30 days while the Twins are sixth in the majors in home runs over that stretch with 35.
Even if Lynn survives his start, the White Sox will eventually have to turn to its 26th ranked bullpen.
All signs point towards the Twins tonight and I think -155 is more than a fair price.
