Thursday's Twins vs. Tigers game postponed until April 13th due to bad weather

There will be no baseball played today -- at least involving the Twins.

Just when the Minnesota Twins' were starting to wake up, Mother Nature said 'go back to sleep', or at least that's how it feels.

The Twins were scheduled to play in Detroit on Thursday but that won't be happening due to bad weather forcing yet another postponement. It's the second time in five games that Minnesota will have a bonus day off thanks to rain, and it comes on the heels of the team finally starting to look like the one we were expecting them to be.

On Wednesday the Twins not only beat the Los Angeles Dodgers but did so in a way we've been waiting for all season. Edouard Julien hit a pair of home runs, Chris Paddack looked fantastic, and we saw one of the best defensive plays of the year so far.

Carlos Correa ended Tuesday's game with a home run and a day later threw out Shohei Ohtani at home plate to preserve a one-run lead. That ended up being a game saving play, and started generating some buzz and energy that we've been waiting for.

The pause button has been pressed, though, and will have to wait until Friday to see if they can keep things going.

Thursday's Twins vs. Tigers game postponed and rescheduled for April 13th

Rather than delay the start of the game, the decision was made to simply move it to another day. The Tigers announced that bad weather was supposed to be in the Detroit area all day, which made postponing the game easier than trying to wait things out.

As a result the Twins and Tigers will play a doubleheader on Saturday.

Pablo Lopez was scheduled to be on the mound for Minnesota against Tarik Skubal in what was looking like a killer pitching matchup. Last time the Twins had a rain delay they simply bumped everyone back and had Louie Varland start Game 1 of the series against the Dodgers.

That would mean we still get our Pablo vs. Skubal showdown, it just happened on Friday night instead.

If the Twins bump everyone back a day, that would mean Joe Ryan pitches on Saturday either as part of the doubleheader with the Twins perhaps going with a bullpen game for either the afternoon or evening portion.
