Opening Day is finally here!

Spring Training was a grind, but it has all led to this moment, when the Minnesota Twins are back in action and trying to reverse fortunes from what happened last year.

To say things didn't go the way anyone wanted them to last year is an understatement; the Twins failed to win 80-games despite entering the season being talked about as potential AL Central winners.

That didn't happen, and now the chatter the team was surrounded by last year has completely evaporated. Cleveland is the talk of the division, Chicago is being pegged as a bounce back candidate after dumping Tony La Russa, while ESPN is predicting an absolutely brutal season for the Twins.

It could be worse, as the Twins could be afterthoughts like the Royals and Tigers are.

Speaking of the Royals, Minnesota will spend Opening Day in Kansas City this year. It marks the 10th time since 2010 that the Twins have started the season on the road, but hopefully that's the only trend Minnesota takes with them.

Opening Day baseball has been brutal for the Twins recently. Over the last 13 years, Minnesota is 3-10 in season openers having lost the last two Opening Day games. Fans have to go back to 2020 for the last time the Twins won on Opening Day, which saw Jose Berrios beat the White Sox in Chicago.

For what it's worth the Twins haven't won an Opening Day game at Target Field since 2019.

Last year's opener looked like it wasn't going to end in disappointment until the Seattle Mariners pulled out a late victory. It was an omen for how the season would eventually go, so here's to hoping things get started off on a better foot this year.
