Saturday’s Twins-A’s game postponed due to bad weather: Full details and makeup date
There will be no baseball played today at Target Field.
For the third time this season, the Minnesota Twins will have to wait to play baseball. Saturday’s game against the Oakland Athletics was rained out and postponed until Sunday when it will be played as part of a doubleheader.
It’s the first time in over a month that the Twins have needed to push a game and the second time it’s happened at Target Field. Back in April a game against the Cleveland Guardians was rained out and moved to August. The other game that got pushed was in Detroit, and that one ended up being a blessing in disguise.
That game in Detroit required the Twins to call up a pitcher to start one of the doubleheader games, and that’s ended up being Simeon Woods Richardson. He’s been a fixture in the rotation ever since, most recently starting Friday night’s win over the A’s.
Bailey Ober was scheduled to pitch on Saturday but it’s unclear if he’ll get bumped or if the Twins will pitch him tomorrow in addition to Chris Paddack.
Why isn’t the Minnesota Twins game on today? (June 15, 2024)
Rather than play on Saturday, the Twins moved the game to 6:10pm on Sunday. Originally Minnesota had a game scheduled for 1:10pm, and that won’t be impacted as far as a start time by this shift.
There could be some lineup changes, though, since the Twins are unlikely to play the same group of guys back-to-back.
