Twins-Rockies rain delay updates from Target Field, June 11th
Here are the latest updates for the Twins-Rockies rain delay today..
After dropping a rough game on Tuesday night, the Minnesota Twins bounced back in a big way against the Rockies in their series finale. The good times were rolling, with the Twins scoring 10 runs, but the baseball gods decided the brakes needed to be pumped.
In the seventh inning the Twins and Rockies went into a rain delay after a storm cell moved into the Minneapolis area
The delay brought a halt to what was an otherwise fantastic day for Minnesota. Following a 5-4 loss, the Twins exploded for 10 runs including yet another Royce Lewis home run late in the game. Everyone was getting in on the action, from Manuel Margot to Christian Vazquez, and Carlos Correa continued to clap back at claims that he's overrated.
Despite the power the Twins displayed, they couldn't stop the baseball gods from forcing a rain delay.

UPDATE (2:26pm CT) After a brief, but intense, delay, the rain stopped and the tarp was taken off the field. The game is scheduled to restart at 2:50pm CT.
The skies opened up a little more than the head groundskeeper wanted, and the game was halted in the seventh inning. It didn't look that bad in terms of clouds but the rain was coming down and it was decided that the best move was to just press pause until things passed.
There was some hope that the two teams could have played through it, but almost as soon as the tarp got rolled onto the field things got even worse.
Minnesota has experienced some bad luck with rain delays and postponements this season. They still need to make up a game against the Cleveland Guardians that got postponed until August and had another game later that week against the Detroit Tigers merged into a doubleheader.
Last week the Twins had to sit through a rain delay against the New York Yankees, although based on the scores of the two games this wait will be a little bit more relaxing.
