Minnesota Twins vs. Oakland A's start time, lineups, TV Channel (June 15th)
Can the Twins keep the winning streak going on Saturday against the A’s?
So far the Minnesota Twins have been doing exactly what they need to against the Oakland A’s, even if it hasn’t been pretty. Both wins over Oakland have required comebacks by the Twins, but the main takeaway is that the team is winning games it should and more importantly isn’t folding under stress.
Friday night was a tough one, as Simeon Woods Richardson gave up four runs before the game even had a chance to start. It was an uncharacteristically rough outing, but he steadied and the Twins were able to use an offensive explosion to win in extra innings.
Max Kepler was a big reason why, hitting both the game-tying home run and the walk-off hit to win the game.
The Twins are going to try and keep the good vibes going on Saturday, and keep the lucky streak with the City Connect uniforms rolling, with an afternoon battle against the A’s.
Twins vs. Athletics starting pitchers, June 15th
We haven't yet seen the complete version of Bailey Ober (5-4, 5.13 ERA) this season, but there's still plenty of time for him to gather some momentum. He had a rough outing in his last start against the Pirates in which he lasted fewer than five innings and allowed four runs on seven hits.
Things haven't always looked that shakey for him, but for the most part he's failed to settle in the way the Twins were hoping he would as a replacement for Sonny Gray. Nobody was expecting a one-for-one replacement, but the innings that Ober was expected to eat up were part of the sales pitch on why the Twins didn't pursue starting pitching this winter.
Ober has a chance to bounce back in a big way against a bad A’s team, which is exactly what he needs right now.
