We've officially begin the second half of the regular season, and we're about to learn a lot about what this Minnesota Twins team is made of.
After a truly rough start to the year, Minnesota has swung back and forth between being a truly top-tier team and one that painfully underperforms. They've been the streakiest team in baseball for a reason, as the Twins were capable of winning 12 games in a row while bookending that success with losing streaks of five or more games.
That's something that needs to continue to even out as the second half begins. Minnesota is still chasing Cleveland in the AL Central, and we're now entering crunch time in terms of the team figuring things out in time to make another postseason run or letting this season slip away from them.
Twins vs. Brewers starting pitchers, July 20th
It's Pablo Day! The Twins will be returning to action with Pablo Lopez (8-7, 5.11 ERA) on the mound against Milwaukee.
The first half was a bit rough for Minnesota's ace, but there's still a lot of baseball left to be played for him to sort things out. He's fully cabaple of pitching at a high level, something we saw him to last season whle earning some Cy Young love along the way.
That's the Lopez the Twins need to get back, and hasn't been the one we've seen so far. Joe Ryan has stepped up as an ace of the staff, but the rotation is a glarring issue as the second half begins. Minnesota will be looking at the trade market to perhaps make some improvements, but for that won't really mean much if Lopez doesn't figure out a way to start turning things around and become the pitcher Twins fans know he can be.
For Milwaukee, Freddy Peralta (6-5, 4.11 ERA) will be on the bump to try and get the Brewers off to a hot start to the second half. This will be the first time he's seeing the Twins this season, as Peralta's start didn't line up with the last time these two teams played back in April.
Minnesota Twins lineup vs. Milwaukee Brewers, July 20th
Note: This will be updated once the Twins lineup is submitted.
How to watch the Minnesota Twins game tonight on TV and streaming?
It almost seems like a rhetorical question at this point, but the Twins will be on Bally Sports North tonight which creates some challenges when it comes to watching the game. We all know how difficult it already was to watch games, but Comcast dropping Bally made things even worse.
Unlike last weekend, which saw the Twins get a spot in the MLB on FOX lineup, tonight's game will be a local boradcast only.
- Start Time: 6:10 pm CT
- Date: Saturday, July 20, 2024
- Location: Minneapolis, MN
- Stadium: Target Field
- Local TV Channel: Bally Sports North
For anyone outside of the viewing area, one of these streaming options could do the trick. Twins fans inside of the Minnesota area can view Bally Sports North as part of Fubo's channel lineup.
