Minnesota Twins vs. Arizona Diamondbacks start time, lineups, TV Channel (June 25th)
The Twins are hoping to keep their winning streak alive down in Arizona on Tuesday night.
After an off-day on Monday, the Minnesota Twins wasted no time throwing themselves back into the fire of action.
The day started with Chris Paddack being placed on the 15-day IL with arm soreness. While that sounds serious, the Twins don’t seem worried at all and Paddack seems to have been shut down to rest more than anything else.
Still, hearing that a guy who is coming back from Tommy John surgery is experiencing dead arm symptoms isn’t great. Paddack was scheduled to pitch on Thursday and it’s unclear who will replace him in the rotation for that start.
While that’s how the day began, it will end in the desert down in Arizona as the Twins try to keep their winning streak alive against the Diamondbacks.
Twins vs. Diamondbacks starting pitchers, June 25th
Even though there was plenty of pitching chaos for the Twins earlier in the day on Tuesday, nothing that happened with Chris Paddack hitting the IL impacts what was already lined up for tonight. Joe Ryan. (5-5, 3.13 ERA) will be on the bump for Minnesota looking to keep his good season rolling.
Ryan has begun developing into an ace for the Twins, and it couldn’t be happening at a better time. With the struggles of Pablo Lopez, watching Ryan emerge has been a saving grace of sorts for Minnesota’s rotation, and he has a chance to keep those vibes going tonight in the desert.
The Twins offense will have its work cut out, though. While Brandon Pfaadt (3-6, 4.37 ERA) hasn’t thrown overly stellar stuff this season, he’s someone the Diamondbacks believe can turn into an ace not unlike the way Joe Ryan has. Both are young pitchers finding their way in the league and Pfaadt is capable of shutting a lineup down.
Minnesota Twins lineup vs. Diamondbacks, June 25th
One bit of good news heading into Tuesday night is that Max Kepler is back in the lineup. He missed the Oakland series after being day-to-day with a neck issue, but he’s returning tonight and will be hitting cleanup.
Here’s the rest of what the Twins are rolling with in Arizona:
- Willi Castro, 2B
- Trevor Larnach, DH
- Royce Lewis, 3B
- Max Kepler, RF
- Carlos Correa, SS
- Carlos Santana, 1B
- Byron Buxton, CF
- Ryan Jeffers, C
- Austin Martin, LF
