Minnesota Twins probable pitchers & starting lineup vs. Toronto Blue Jays, May 10
The Twins are hoping things go as well as the last time they played Toronto.
After a rough start to the season, things could not be going much better for the Minnesota Twins. The team has won 15 of its last 17 games, including ripping off a 12-game winning streak to help get the season back on track.
Some tried to dismiss the Twins' winning streak as a stroke of scheduling luck, with a majority of those wins coming against the White Sox and Angels. Minnesota pushed back on that narrative over the last week, taking a series against the Seattle Mariners and cooking what might be the best starting pitching lineup the team has faced this year.
Against Boston and Seattle -- two of three best pitching staff ERAs in baseball -- the Twins batted .251/.312/.440 with 36 runs scored. Minnesota scored 11 of those runs off Logan Gilbert on Thursday. Mariners starting pitchers had combined to allow 15 earned runs in their last 15 games before coming to Target Field, but gave up 19 earned runs in 4 games to the Twins.
That's how great things have been going, as the Twins now 5-2 against winning teams over this most recent stretch and are looking to keep the good times rolling against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Things went pretty well for Minnesota the last time it played Toronto. A 19-year playoff losing streak was snapped thanks to a Wild Card win over the Blue Jays, and the Twins doubled down by winning their first postseason series since 2002 in the process.
Joe Ryan (1-2, 3.54 ERA) didn't pitch in that series -- Pablo Lopez and Sonny Gray combined to get the job done -- but he's still looking to get in on the fun. He got roughed up a bit in his last outing, allowing three runs on four hits in a loss to the Red Sox, but he still managed to get six innings of work in.
Hopefully his next outing against the AL East goes better, and the Blue Jays generally being pretty mediocre bodes well for a nice bounce back game.
Over on Toronto's side, Yusei Kikuchi (2-2, 2.72 ERA) will be looking for the same thing. His last outing ended with a 9-3 loss to the Nationals, but Kikuchi only allowed one of those runs while striking out seven hitters.
He's another in a long line of great pitchers the Twins will face, but they proved on Thursday that it's not something the offense can't overcome.
