Twins announce this year’s Prince Theme Night: Full details and tickets
Let’s Go Crazy for this year’s Prince Night at Target Field.
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called the Minnesota Twins’ season.
Specifically, Twins fans will gather on June 13th, which is when the team announced this year’s Prince Night will be held.
Each year the Twins have found a way to celebrate one of Minnesota’s greatest natural resources by dedicating a game devoted to the one and only Prince. Originally there wasn’t a date scheduled when the theme nights were announced earlier this year, but the wait was worth it.
This year the Twins will be celebrating Prince Night by giving away a special purple Track Jacket that features the “Prince” script on the front, the “Love Symbol” on the back and zipper, with the Twins script on the left sleeve.
Twins announce Prince Theme Night at Target Field
Fans who want this limited edition giveaway will need to purchase a special ticket through the team. Don’t show up at Target Field and expect this to be like a bobblehead giveaway because you’re going to miss out.
There is a gate giveaway, with the first 15,000 fans getting a Prince themed Twins hat. That one you don't need special ticket for.
As far as where the giveaway ranks with other Prince Theme Nights, the track jacket is way up there. Lower on the list are things like the inflatable purple guitar the Twins gave away a few years back, but for the most part the team has stepped up in ways to make it worth the extra scratch to get a theme ticket.
Lest we forget the awesome purple rain jacket that was given away a few years ago, or the varsity jacket and hat that were also featured in years past.
The only downside is having to watch the product on the field. Hopefully by June the Twins have figured things out, but you’d be hard pressed to make that bet based on how things look now.
What we should all really be hoping for is that Prince Night features as many healthy Twins players as possible. While things are pretty dire right now, Carlos Correa and Royce Lewis are on the IL and Max Kepler is working his way back. We also have yet to see Jhoan Duran or Justin Topa make their season debut and there’s also a chance guys like Brooks Lee and David Festa are on the MLB roster by then.
At the very least things line up for a potential win since the Oakland A’s will be in town. That feels like a much taller task than it should but thus is life for Twins fans so far this season.
At least we have things like Prince Night to dull the pain.
