Minnesota Twins lineup, TV Channel, start time vs. San Francisco Giants (July 13th)
- Twins-Giants is scheduled to start at 6:10pm CT
- It will be a nationally televised game on FOX
- Here's everything to know
Things didn't go too well on Friday night in the Bay Area for the Minnesota Twins.
The team's first trip out to San Francisco since 2017 began with a 7-1 loss, which featured one of Joe Ryan's toughest outings of the season. He wasn't terrible, but the bumpiness of his early inning struggles managed to pile up and the Twins' offense just couldn't get going.
Now the team will turn around and try to make things right on Saturday, and will be doing it under the bright lights of national television.
Minnesota Twins lineup vs. San Francisco Giants (July 13th)
Byron Buxton will have the night off, at least as far as the starting lineup goes, which comes after he crashed into the outfield wall trying to make a catch on Friday night. He remained in the game and ended up getting a hit later on, but it's probably wise for the Twins to give him a break.
Even with Buxton out, the Twins have Brooks Lee and Carlos Correa in the lineup -- a testament to how deeply talented the roster is and can be when fully healthy.
- Willi Castro, 2B
- Trevor Larnach, LF
- Carlos Correa, SS
- Brooks Lee, 3B
- Matt Wallner, DH
- Carlos Santana, 1B
- Max Kepler, RF
- Manuel Margot, CF
- Christian Vazquez, C
Twins vs. Giants starting pitchers, July 13
After Joe Ryan's tougher-than-usual outing on Friday night, the Twins are turning to Simeon Woods Richardson (3-1, 3.48 ERA) to right the ship. It'll be a chance for SWR to get one final good start in before the All-Star Break, tying a bow around an impressive first half of the season.
Woods Richardson has been a revelation for Minnesota this year. He was called up to spot start a doubleheader in Detroit back in April but has remained an important part of the rotation ever since. It seems the third time was the charm for him, and everything he's done has implied he'll only get better as the season goes on.
Ending his first half with a solid start in San Francisco will help out in more ways than one.
For the Giants, Hayden Birdson (1-0, 4.40 ERA) is making just his fourth start of the season on Saturday night. The Twins ran into more trouble than anticipated against Kyle Harrison in the first game of the series, but get what seems to be a favorable matchup tonight.
How to watch Minnesota Twins game today on TV and streaming?
While had some fantastic calls from Marney Gellner in Chicago, Cory Provus took back over the play-by-play duties (along with Denard Span) on Friday night in San Francisco. He won't be on the call Saturday, though, as the Twins-Giants game is a national broadcast that will air on FOX.
This means, for once, Twins fans in the Minnesota viewing area will actually be able to watch the team. What a concept!
