Twins sign 4 players to minor-league deals

UTL Henry Kusiak

The Twins purchased Kusiak's contract from the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League. He will report to Low-A Fort Myers. The utilityman played in just five games with the Ducks this year, hitting .474 with two homers, two doubles, eight RBI and two stolen bases.

Kusiak, 25, slashed .348/.451/.612 with 52 homers and 219 RBI in 232 games across five seasons with Missouri Southern from 2020-24. He posted a .277/.345/.376 slash line in 77 games with the Windy City Thunderbolts of the Frontier League in 2024, then hit .309/.377/.481 with 12 homers and 47 RBI in 79 games with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association last year.

RHP Nick McAuliffe

McAuliffe, 25, spent the 2025 season with the Sioux City Explorers (American Association) and Evansville Otters (Frontier League), posting a 3.11 ERA with 54 strikeouts over 38 2/3 innings. He's already made an appearance with High-A Cedar Rapids this season, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks with a strikeout in one inning.

RHP Carter Holjes

Holjes, 24, signed with the Twins after posting a 3.52 ERA with 36 strikeouts across 30 2/3 innings in his final collegiate season (2025) with Florida Atlantic. It's still unknown which level of the minors he will report to with Minnesota.

RHP Jesse Bergin

The Miami Marlins selected Bergin in the 11th round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of UCLA after he posted a 3.91 ERA with 168 strikeouts in 168 innings across 37 games (35 starts) in three collegiate seasons. In 2021, Bergin, 26, made three appearances (two starts) in rookie ball and four starts in Low-A, then didn't appear in a game until 2024 due to undergoing Tommy John surgery.

The Marlins had Bergin serve in a relief role upon his return to in-game action in 2024. The righty posted a 5.79 ERA in 9 1/3 innings in Rookie Ball before posting an outstanding 2.64 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 22 innings in Low-A, leading to his promotion to High-A, where he threw three scoreless innings in 2024.

Bergin had a solid 2025 season, allowing two runs in nine innings in High-A before earning a promotion to Double-A, where the UCLA product posted a 2.51 ERA with 41 strikeouts in 43 innings across 35 appearances. The Marlins released Bergin in late March despite his strong stats from the last two seasons.
