'Tis the season of change, as teams around baseball are trying to determine which moves to make this offseason that will help put them in contention next year. For the Minnesota Twins the first moves seem to always be internal, and the extends beyond what the roster makeup will be when Opening Day rolls around.
One of the first things that changed after the season was what Rocco Baldelli's coaching staff looked like. Despite a historic collapse, Baldelli wasn't fired and has a chance to redeem himself next year and hopefully get the team back to where we all know it can be.
That's easier said than done, as a lack of resources contributed in a big way to the meltdown in September. It's looking like ownership is just as unserious as it was last year about improving the roster, but the same isn't the case for Baldelli's staff in the clubhouse.
Minnesota Twins 2025 coaching staff revealed
We already knew about a few top-line changes, with David Popkins being let go and replaced by Matt Borgschulte. There were other vacancies the Twins needed to fill, though, and we now know who that will be with the announcement of Baldelli's staff for the 2025 season.
Minnesota Twins 2025 Coaching Staff | |

Unlike how the Twins are probably going to tinker with the roster, a few of these moves are external hirings. Matt Borgschulte is sort of in the middle of that as he used to be with the Twins before joining the Orioles so this is his second tour of duty in Minnesota.
Trevor Amicone comes from the New York Yankees farm system and will join the hitting staff, alongside Rayden Sierra who is an internal promotion. He's spent the last four years in the Twins organization after spending last season as the club's minor league hitting coordinator. Ramon Borrego is also from within the organization and is taking over first base coach duties this season.
