DaShawn Keirsey Jr. was a lifer in the Minnesota Twins organization. But after the club released him, the Atlanta Braves will give him another chance. Though he didn't exactly perform up to expectation, he took everything on the chin. Keirsey Jr. was sent up and down from the big leagues to Triple-A plenty, which can weigh on a 28-year-old who never really got a consistent chance at playing Major League Baseball.
The Twins ultimately parted ways with the outfielder this past November. However, it didn't take long for Keirsey Jr. to get another call. The Atlanta Braves signed him to a minor league deal, and maybe it's with this organization where he can crack a 26-man roster spot with consistency. Twins fans would love to see that for him.

DaShawn Keirsey Jr. does not have great hitting tools, but he is fast and he has a great arm in the outfield. Owning those two traits will generally keep a player signed somewhere, but he still needs to break through at the plate.
In 80 career MLB games, he is a .113 hitter a 35-percent strikeout rate and three home runs. On defense, he never made an error and provided two OAA in 2025 as a defender who can man all three spots in the outfield.

Keirsey Jr. was beloved in Minnesota, but it just seemed like it would never work out for him here. Drafted in the fourth round in the 2018 draft, it was probably time for him to move on and reset with another team. The Braves have a knack for developing outfield talent, so maybe some of that magic could rub off on him with the 2026 season incoming.
