After finishing the first month of the season one game under the .500 mark on the season, the Minnesota Twins were one of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball during May.

The Twins finished the month of May with a record of 18-8. Of course, one of the reasons for the hot month was the impressive winning streak the Twins had at the start of the month. The Twins' 13-game winning streak came to an end on May 18.

Of course, the Twins' hot streak did not fully translate to gaining ground on the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central race. Entering Monday, despite the Twins' near .700 winning percentage in May, the Tigers still hold a seven-game lead over the third-place Twins.

However, given their success in May, the Twins have firmly entered the conversation of the American League Wild Card race. Two months into the season, the Twins currently hold the third Wild Card spot in the American League.

If nothing else, the Twins are a trending team, and a baseball legend is taking notice. Roger Clemens took to X to share his praise for what the Twins have been doing in recent weeks.

"Enjoyed Watching the Minnesota Twins in the month of May. It was like watching Playoff October Baseball in the month of May. Exciting, Grinding, High Energy." Clemens shared on Monday morning.

The good news is that the Twins will have the opportunity to continue their hot streak by playing a four-game set against the Athletics this week. It would be a great opportunity for the Twins to bank some wins before playing teams later this month who could be a factor in the Wild Card race.

If nothing else, the month of June will likely be the month that decides the path the Twins take at the Major League Baseball Trade Deadline in July. Once viewed as a definite seller this season, the Twins may have just played their way into the buying category.
