Barring a miracle, the Minnesota Twins' season will end with a three-game series against the Texas Rangers at Target Field later this month. Most of the players on the Twins' roster are under contract through at least next season, but several are set to hit free agency this offseason.

C Ryan Jeffers
Jeffers is in the final year of his rookie contract. It seems unlikely the Twins will re-sign the catcher, as Minnesota has several promising catching prospects, including recent first-round pick Vahn Lackey. Victor Caratini can take over the starting catcher role in 2027, then Lackey should be ready for his MLB debut soon after.
Jeffers missed nearly two months of the season after suffering a broken left hamate bone in mid-May. He's had a rough stretch lately but has had a strong season overall, slashing .262/.362/.483 with 14 home runs and 54 RBI over - games. It'll be sad to see Jeffers go, as he has been with the Twins organization since 2018. The Twins could consider re-signing the backstop, but the team may be better off spending on different areas of the roster.
1B/DH Josh Bell
Bell technically could return to the Twins via his $10 million mutual option for next year. However, that seems highly unlikely. The last mutual option exercised was Aramis Ramirez with the Milwaukee Brewers in November 2014, according to Spotrac.
Bell signed a one-year, $8 million deal (plus the option) with the Twins this past season. He has had a streaky season with an overall slash line of .255/.320/.427, 20 home runs and 87 RBI over 143 games.
Bell has been the Twins' primary designated hitter this season, appearing in only 20 games at first base. He is a poor defensive first baseman, which is why the Twins have been reluctant to play him on the field. The Twins will likely let Bell walk in free agency given the large number of top Twins prospects either already in the big leagues or knocking at the door.
LHP Taylor Rogers
Rogers returned to his original team on a one-year, $2 million deal over the winter. It's been a rough year for Rogers, as the southpaw has posted a 4.86 ERA with a 1.60 WHIP and 47 strikeouts over 53 2/3 innings.
The Twins could consider bringing Rogers back, but the left-hander may have to settle for a minor-league deal at this point due to his recent struggles and age. With 11 years of big-league experience, Rogers is 35 years old.
