Are the Twins having a good offseason? It depends who you ask, but Minnesota has added Josh Bell and Dan Altavilla so far to bolster both the lineup and the bullpen.

Ideally, more help is on the way, especially to keep pace with the rest of the AL Central. Some big-time moves have beeen made by the Twins' rivals, and particularly three of them that Minnesota fans should be jealous of. Shawn Armstrong (Guardians), Kyle Finnegan (Tigers), and Munetaka Murakami (White Sox) are solid splashes made by AL Central clubs this winter.

Shawn Armstrong: Cleveland Guardians

Once the Tier 1 closers were taken off the board in free agency, Shawn Armstrong became the most sought-out arm on the market. With the Rangers this past season, he logged a 0.811 WHIP in 74 innings. He will earn $4 million in 2026, a price that the Twins could have definitely shelled out, too.

For his career, Armstrong has allowed one run in 2.1 innings against the Twins. For his entire career, the 35-year-old owns a 3.82 ERA and 9.3 K/9.

Kyle Finnegan: Detroit Tigers

Kyle Finnegan has always been an underrated pitcher. Traded from the Nationals to the Tigers this past season, the southpaw allowed three runs in 18 innings with Detroit. He produced a ridiculous 0.722 WHIP with 23 strikeouts. It's no wonder the Tigers wanted him back, and they'll give him $8.75 million for 2026.

Finnegan, who was a career National up until this past trade deadline, has yet to allow a run against the Twins in 5.1 career innings. He has a career 3.55 ERA and 112 saves.

Munetaka Murakami: Chicago White Sox

A two-time MVP in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), Munetaka Murakami will undoubtedly make the White Sox better. He'll rake in $34 million over the next two seasons following dominant seasons in Japan that made him the top power hitter in the league.

Murakami was one of the biggest names on the market this year, so for Chicago to be the team to win the sweepstakes is a bit of a surprise. This could turn the White Sox into a desirable destination for other international players if Murakami (and the team) succeeds.
