Minnesota Twins 3B Trade Candidate No. 2: Jon Berti, Miami Marlins

Jon Berti is the other member of the Miami Marlins that the Minnesota Twins should consider taking a look at. Berti, who isn’t a free agent until 2026 might not come as cheap as Anderson would, but he’d be a big upgrade over Urshela and the Twins could move him around in a lot of different ways.

Berti is capable of playing second, third, shortstop, or corner outfield and is solid at all five positions. For a Twins team that could use a backup shortstop as well as a starting third baseman, Berti would fit right in.

Berti is a fine hitter who, similar to Anderson, gets on base consistently. He’s currently slashing .281/.371/.399, and while he doesn’t hit for a lot of power, he does offer one thing that the Minnesota Twins have in short supply: speed.

Berti currently leads all of baseball in stolen bases with 22, so even though he doesn’t often hit for power, he often can add to his base hits with some speed. He’d cost quite a bit more than Anderson given his contract, but he’d be a fun addition to the team.
